Denzil Williams 2010 Escape Race Board

So with the kiting course racing season soon to begin we had Denzil Williams into the Escape factory to pick up his new board. Denzil Williams is British Course Racing Champion and has been riding Escape boards for the last 2+ years. With Denzils skill as a kite-boarder and the boards Bill Attlee & Alex Murray have built here at Escape we think the Champ is here to stay.

Kite Surfing : Speaking to Denzil to day he was saying that this year should see the contest really hot up as more poeple are becoming involved and competing in the events. So if you what to see what its all about head down to the first contest this year – April 16th-18th  National Course Racing and Wave Jam – Watergate – Cornwall.

Congratulations to Escape Team rider Denzil Williams on retaining his British title. Denzil has been working with us on the new low wind board designs. Giving us the feedback we need to give him a board that will keep him ahead of the rest. With a few adjustment on the last board we made this light wind model below. So now Denzil would be covered for what ever the conditions do on the day. So armed with the two boards he was all set to win again ,even against an ever hungry pack of competitors. A lot of work goes into the construction of these boards as they are under a lot of pressure and need to perform at a very high level. Escape has a core team of riders -Denzil Williams – Nigel Howell – Axel Bamberger – Alex Murray and soon James ‘Smiley’ Waters.

Escape has been involved with the kite scene over the last few years mainly as a testing ground for new constructions. With the forces involved in kiting it is a real test of board strength. Also we have Daymer (one of the UK’s most fun and challenging spot) 5 minutes from the factory.

Alex Murray has been part of Escape for years and is a keen kite surfer ,SUP surfer and short boarder so is the man for the job when we have a board to put through its paces. Also with Bill Attlees background being one of the founders of Lightwave Sail boards it gives the company an overall view on design and constructions to pull from.
